SquashBlossoms

Did you know that iguana's love squash blossoms? I found that out last year when I 'borrowed' one from our community garden. Fio snarfed it up. Unfortunately, picking the blossoms was a no-no in the garden as they were hoping to harvest some actual squash.

This year, I bought a tiny zucchini plant from the garden store and planted it in the front yard of the condo. Like Jack's magic bean stalk, it grew to giant proportions. Yellow flowers appeared every morning, attracting loads of bees and providing a breakfast treat for Fio and the bearded dragon, too. The plant keeps growing. Oddly, the rabbits and woodchucks and deer haven't figure out its here, yet. There's some zucchini coming along, too.
