Max

Two months ago, Max joined our household, a ward of the reptile sanctuary.

We don't know much about his past, just a rumor that his previous owners thought he was 'too big', which is ironic since he weighed 140 grams at the age of three. His lower jaw protrudes, giving him a grumpy look - a result of metabolic bone disease. How sad that the people who bought him didn't realize that he needed the correct source of UV light. His legs are spindly and malformed, too and he has a kink in his spine.

The most obvious problem is that he was thin. Fortunately, he was ready to eat the minute he arrived. He's now 360 grams, thanks to superworms. I try not to feel guilty that they end up in that huge pink mouth - from their point of view he really is a dragon.
